Jingle Jangle January!

For whatever the reason, January went by really fast this year. Zach returned to school - the holiday break was over pretty quickly (most especially since neither Pat nor I took any time off this year!) We did our annual volunteering with the B'Nai B'rith Pinch-Hitters on Christmas Day. Zach and Lindsay jumped in this year too (almost with a smile!). We all worked in the cafeteria of one of the local hospitals for about 6 hours or so. Then it was off to celebrate what Pat know loves to call "Jewish Christmas" - we go to a movie (this year we saw the sequel to National Treasure) and then Chinese Dinner.

Lindsay had a couple of competitions in January and a bunch of performances at the HS basketball games. Brianna has been keeping busy with agility and lure coursing. Phancy is proving to be quite the champion. Femi is finishing up her career as an athlete and will let Phancy take the spotlight for a while.

The big news for January was the return of the Traveling Tiaras....this year we added to our group as Brianna was given her crown on Christmas. The Tiaras went to NYC this year and had time yet - each year gets better and better. Pat's sister Judy joined us for a day. Not a minute was wasted - as soon as we got off the plane and met at the hotel, we headed over to Rockefeller Center for some ice skating....then downtown to a yummy dinner at Max Brenner's Chocolate by the Bald Guy (it's in Union Square), up to midtown for a late night trip to the top of the Empire State Building (still no map). The next day was the Sex in the City Bus tour, the great pocketbook shopping spree and dinner in Little Italy - see not a minute wasted. It is always great to spend time with Karin and Rachael and hard to part at the close of the trip.

The weekend we were away was the big face-off....Green Bay Packers v. New York Giants - the boys watched the game at Matt's house....there were tears - some of joy, some of sadness. I will say the better team won....HA HA HA!
