They say April showers bring May flowers...well, it also brings our big group together to celebrate 4 birthdays - all of which occur within 1 week! Technically, only 3 are in April, but the 4th one is close enough....we have Len on April 24th, Matt on April 26t

h, Patrick on April 30th and Zach on May 3rd.This year we enjoyed the BBQ cooking sensations of none other, Pat (not to be confused with Patrick). Another tradition Pat started this year - each time we get together at our house for an event (holidays, birthdays, etc) Pat tries to find an appropriate beverage to brew up...on Christmas is was Toasted Almonds, for Ryan's birthday it was Grasshoppers...The Taurus Birthday Extravaganza brought us Root Beer Floats (all are alcoholic and very yummy!)
Following dinner and the worst version of "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" ever, we broke out the poker chips and cards and played a Texas Hold 'Em tournament. Brianna, Lindsay and I were out pretty quickly (still not sure what happened there!)... no poker game is complete without my mother being creative --- no, she wasn't cheating, but her version of poker doesn't resemble anyone else's. It is funny to witness - picture playing poker with Lucille Ball.
