HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND HOPPY EASTER

This entry is a bit late - a few weeks after the actual celebrations and I apologize for being tardy. There has been a lot going on (as you will read further on in this entry). In addition to the Passover celebration we attended at Bari's parents house, Bari and Pat hosted a Seder in their home for 17. Guests included the usual suspects - Zach, Lindsay, Bari's parents, her brother Matt, sister-in-law Gaby, Gaby's mom and Bari's Nephews...we added our friends the Zions and a couple from Czechoslovokia, whom though Jewish, were prevented from celebrating a Seder until they immigrated to the USA.

We doubled up on our Easter Celebration (photos included) and celebrated Ryan's 22nd birthday. Sometimes, because we are all so busy and subsequently difficult to get all of us together in the same spot at the same time, we have to do that. Easter was 2 days before our second Seder. As you can imagine, there was a lot of cooking and prep time needed to be ready for 2 big meals and celebrations, back to back.

Zach was accepted to all 6 of the universities he applied to and decided upon Georgia College and State University, a small liberal arts college located in Milledgeville, Georgia. To his credit, he also applied to and was accepted to one of GCSU's "live & learn" programs, "Bridge Scholar Program", an honor limited to only 75 Freshman per year. The BSP resides on GCSU's West Campus in the brand new campus apartments and is equipped with all of the bells and whistles - cable, wireless Internet, swimming pool, state of the art clubhouse with rec room, private bedrooms - the list goes on. Graduation is just around the corner - Memorial Day Weekend. Of course a party is in the works and will be reported on in the blog along with all of the other Senior/Graduation activities.

I believe I already mentioned that Lindsay made the LHS Dance team. This is particularly exciting for her and the fun is already beginning with a Dance Team Party (team building function) scheduled for next week. She will be attending dance camp in Alabama - at the Crimson Tide itself for a few days and then hop on a plane to meet us in Hilton Head, SC where our entire family will be enjoying a summer vacation (just before we see Zach off to begin summer session). Lindsay will also be taking driver's ed this summer in preparation for getting her license this fall.

Patrick will be getting his very own apartment and is very excited about it. For his birthday he asked for IKEA gift cards so he can get set up. Patrick has been very dedicated to his new (well, not so new anymore) work out routine and is looking pretty good. I think he was inspired by Lawton who now is hooked on running marathons. Lawton participated in the first annual ING Marathon - this is Atlanta's first marathon, similar to the Boston Marathon and the NY Marathon. I have a feeling that it won't be long before Lawton is training for Tri-Athalons, and succeeding at those. Brianna is very busy with all of the agility competitions Femi and Phancy are participating in. They travel all over to compete. Lindy would rather stay home with Lawton and do what he does best...sleep. As I write this Brianna is helping a group search for a missing Pharaoh Hound in Alabama. Not much more to report on for Ryan except that he bought another motorcycle.

The next family blog entry will be for our Taurus Birthday Extravaganza - we have 4 Taurus Birthdays - Len and Matt (Bari's dad & brother), Patrick and Zach. A big BBQ dinner is planned for the celebration. May is chock full of activities aside from graduation and you can be assured all will be mentioned in one entry or another. Till then, stay well and feel free to comment back to us.
