Okay...you have seen the movie, but you can't believe how true that really is until you experience it first hand. Being from the North, it was really hard for me to understand just how important HS football is to a community - it is like a religion! Seriously, the entire community comes to these games. I honestly believe our school is excessive even for the excessive group! Our season opener had more hoopla than the Super Bowl! One of the radio stations broad casted in the parking lot 2 hours before game time for the pre-game tailgate parties (Called the fan zone), they arranged for parachuters to jump onto the field, delivering the game ball and carrying the American Flag and the Air Force timed a formation fly over the stadium to coincide with the LHS Marching Band playing our National Anthem. Yes, this is for real and not a dream I had. Most of this was to celebrate the beginning of our school's stadium 6.5 million dollar renovation (makes me ill, but whatever). We can proudly say our HS has the largest Jumbo Tron for a HS in North America....YIPPEE! Okay, I am going to back off on this topic before I get nasty.
Lindsay performed with the Dance Team at the game, as she will for all home games for both the football season and the basketball season. They did a great job and their first number was to a song from the movie "Hair Spray". The girls decided they wanted to freshen up the act a bit and the next performance will be completely different and using different music as well.
By the way, we lost the game - 30 to 7. It was a lot of fun, seriously.
