Mother's Day 2008

I don't know why, but for whatever reason, I am reminded this Mother's Day of a poem I once heard my brother recite to our mother...it went like this:

Roses are red, violets are blue.
Sugar is sweet, and so are you!
Can Georgie play in the backyard?

Although "Georgie" was a notorious neighborhood troublemaker and enjoyed a reputation of being somewhat of a thug by the time he was 5, my mother so taken by this "adorable" poem she allowed Georgie in the yard. I don't remember anything more about that day, so I guess the play date went off without a hitch.

Mother's Day in Georgia was a windy one! You can tell not only by all of the wind-blown hair-do's in the photos, but by the lovely tree limb lying across Zach's car! We did have a very stormy spring this year, lot's of tornadoes and thunder storms and on Mother's day we had a wind storm. We enjoyed a tasty brunch at my parent's clubhouse and were joined by my brother and his family. It is always nice to be surrounded by family on special occasions.
