Bari & Pat

We are nearing our 6 month anniversary and can honestly say, we are happier than ever. Life is good. No, life is great. We have 6 fabulous kids whom bring us tremendous joy. We went to Las Vegas for our honeymoon and had a fun time. It was Bari's first time ever and Pat's first time in over 20 years. If you have never been to Vegas, the only way I can describe it is it is like Epcot Center on crack. Having said that, we did have a lot of fun. We went to see the newest Cirque de Soleil show - "Love" based on the music from the Beatles...we highly recommend it. Bari and Zach went up to NY for a weekend to visit our Mecca - Yankee Stadium - and enjoyed a home game. Later on in the summer, Bari did have some surgery. Luckily, our employeer was generous and allowed her to work at home during the convalescence so there was very limited time off (yes, this is a good thing because I was able to save vacation time for just that, vacation!).

Pat continues to be involved with Hands on Atlanta, this year serving on the Board of Directors. He oversaw many projects this year, and was an intrinsic part of Hands On Atlanta Day - a very large, citywide community service day. Pat also joined the ranks of the Marching Band Roadies - yep, it is exactly as it appears - he, and about 20 other dads, work tirelessly for the band - moving equipment, building things - you name it, they do it. This includes picking up over 800 Christmas Trees in North Carolina to be sold at the annual Christmas Tree Lot (the band's biggest fundraiser). Pat is also enjoying building his business brokerage business.

Bari is busy with band stuff too - serving on the board of directors and as the chair for the auction committee (4th year). She also coordinates an annual volunteer effort with the B'nai B'rith called "Pinch-Hitters". This event provides Jewish volunteers to work in hospitals in non-medical positions so Christan workers can have Christmas off with pay. This is Bari's 4th year coordinating for the same hospital (6th year participating) - staffing over 40 volunteers between Christmas Eve and Day.

This brings us to our pride and joy - Frodo. Frodo just wants to be loved and play all of the time. His new favorite activity is walking with his friend Emma, a very cute Heinz 57 pup. Emma belongs to Bari's friend, Nancy. Other than going for long walks, car rides are still tops in Frodo's book. Frodo needs to be kept busy or he is getting into trouble by stealing whatever (and he makes sure you know he stole something so you can chase him). He is funny and lovable.

We have lots to look forward to in the year to come - an Orlando vacation, a family vacation (may be a cruise or a summer house in Hilton Head, SC), Zach's graduation, Bari's brother Matt & his family are moving to Atlanta...and more! Stay tuned.
